GEGAC provides an Aboriginal Medical and Dental Service to the community in East Gippsland Monday to Thursday 9:00am to 5:00pm, Friday 9:00am to 3:00pm.
Medical/ Dental appointments and appointments for all allied health services are made by calling the medical reception.
Nursing staff are available for all medical needs with no appointment necessary.
Nurses also provide: pathology, wound dressings, social and emotional support, general medical needs, home visits, chronic disease management and immunisations.
Aboriginal Health Workers provide transport to medical/ dental appointments, health screenings and health promotion.
GEGAC provides allied health services to the East Gippsland Aboriginal community through its chronic disease clinics, which include: podiatry, diabetes education for people at risk, diabetes education, diabetes clinic, physiotherapy and dietitian (including outreach to Lake Tyers).
Diabetes education/diabetes clinic provide information and support for people with diabetes and those at risk of developing diabetes. Podiatry services are available to diabetic and general clients once a month. A dietitian is available for individual appointments and health promotion activities. The services outreach to Lake Tyers. Physiotherapy services are available once a month.
Planned Activity Groups
GEGAC provides day outings, group meals, occasional trips to visit other centres, games such as bingo and other social activities including fishing, pictures and shows.
Elders’ Lunches
GEGAC provides a healthy and nutritious cooked lunch for Elders at the GEGAC Elders Building.
