COVID-19 Testing in Gippsland

Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) are the primary tool for early detection of COVID-19 and a positive result enables access to antivirals for those who are eligible and will benefit most. Free RATs are available from most local council offices and some libraries.

COVID-19 Testing in Gippsland

Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing remains one of the best ways to keep people safe and stay open, so anyone in Gippsland with symptoms, no matter how mild, should get tested as soon as possible.

Please check the GRPHU Facebook page or the DOH website for information about testing facilities and exposure sites as well as other public health information.

RATs preferred means of testing for COVID-19

Rapid antigen tests (RATs) are the preferred means of testing for COVID-19 for most Victorians. They are quick and accurate, particularly if you have symptoms or if you have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19.

RATs are available at most pharmacies and some retailers such as supermarkets. Only use tests that have been approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). See the TGA’s list of approved tests here, including links to videos on how to use each test. This list is updated regularly.

For alternative COVID-19 testing locations, please see the Victorian State Department of Health website.
