Bite sized learning: Get your reception team ready for MYMedicare conversation

South Eastern Melbourne PHN invites all primary health reception staff members to an online webinar to help explain the MyMedicare initiative.

This webinar will equip reception staff with the knowledge and confidence to answer patient questions about MyMedicare and gain a better understanding of the program.

Why?

It’s a good idea to prepare your reception team for incoming questions ahead of the MyMedicare national consumer campaign starting in July 2024.

Reception staff play a critical role in any practice. They are the face of the clinic and are often the first point of contact. It is therefore important they understand the MyMedicare initiative and feel confident explaining it to patients, and can encourage registration.

Learning Outcomes

  • Gain a better understanding of the MyMedicare initiative, including its benefits and patient eligibility.
  • Feel confident in explaining how to register a patient in MyMedicare.
  • Possess knowledge of where to direct patients for further information and resources.
  • Understand the difference between MyMedicare and My Health Record clearly
  • Be able to answer questions about privacy concerns surrounding registration in MyMedicare.
