On Thursday 17th October from 12:00pm-1:00pm we will be joined by Rachel Wotton on Exploring the experiences of people with disability who access sex worker services in Australia.
Rachel will be talking about the dignity of touch, the different roles sex workers may play in a person’s life and the variety of reasons people with disability may access sex worker services, in Australia.
Rachel Wotton is a sex worker, academic, consultant and educator. She has previously held positions with SWOP NSW, Scarlet Alliance – the Australian Sex Workers’ Association and Touching Base. In 2011 Rachel was featured in an Australian documentary, Scarlet Road, which outlined her work with clients with disability, presenting further on this topic at TEDx Bunbury; “Open your mind to what goes on behind closed doors”. She is a Churchill Fellowship recipient and is currently finishing her PhD at Western Sydney University (WSU) focused on exploring the experiences of people with disability who access sex worker services, in Australia.
