We are pleased to introduce Dr. Daniel Wong, geriatrician affiliated with Geriatric Care Australia. Dr. Wong will be delivering a presentation on the critical topics of Depression, Isolation, & Loneliness in Older Age. The significance of addressing social isolation and loneliness in the context of healthy aging cannot be overstated, as these factors are often overlooked. Establishing and nurturing social connections are vital components for maintaining both mental and physical well-being.
Dr Wong is deeply committed to academic medicine and the mentorship of medical students, trainees, and patients. Holding the position of Senior Lecturer at the University of Newcastle and the University of Sydney, he also serves as the Medicine Lead at the Central Coast Clinical School. His expertise has been showcased at numerous national conferences, and he has been recognized with awards for his valuable research contributions.
