At least one in 10 women attending general practice will have experienced Domestic and Family Violence (DFV), and it is estimated a full-time GP sees up to five unidentified abused women per week. This webinar series aims to enhance primary care staff’s response to patients, particularly women and children, who may be experiencing Domestic and Family Violence (DFV).
The ‘Strengthening primary care’s response to domestic and family violence’ webinars aim to support staff to effectively recognise, respond, refer and record DFV using a trauma and violence informed approach. The webinars will examine the barriers and facilitators to asking about and responding to instances of DFV and will include case studies that offer an opportunity to reflect on different ways of communicating and providing care.
