Understanding Suicide Bereavement for General Practitioners

General Practitioners are invited to participate in an educational webinar focused on providing support to individuals who have experienced the loss of a loved one due to suicide.

Individuals who have experienced the loss of a loved one to suicide may look to their General Practitioner for support. In an effort to better equip General Practitioners to assist bereaved patients who have been impacted by suicide, this training aims to provide a more in-depth understanding of traumatic loss presentation. Additionally, this training will include an exploratory dialogue on distinguishing between grief, trauma, and depression.

Dr Greg Roberts is a Social Worker and Counsellor who has focused
almost exclusively on working with grief, bereavement and trauma since
2001 and has worked in both acute and community health settings.

Dr Roberts currently works as the Victorian Manager of Support After
Suicide and also has a small private practice, working as a counsellor,
group facilitator, educator and clinical supervisor.
