The Gippsland Branch Committee is pleased to support EMDR Basic Training in Sale VIC in 2024, delivered by Sigmund Burzynski from EMDR Training Australia and New Zealand.
Full EMDR Institute Basic training includes the following four components:
Weekend one three-day training 2-4 August 2024
5 hours of case consultation following weekend one and before weekend two
Weekend two 3-day training
5 hours of case consultation following weekend two
Registrations are now open for the first component of EMDR Basic Training – Weekend one.
The EMDR Therapy Basic Training (Weekend one and two) is designed for licensed mental health practitioners who treat adults and children in a clinical setting. EMDR is a comprehensive psychotherapy that accelerates the treatment of a wide range of pathologies and self-esteem issues related to disturbing events and present life conditions.
This interactional, standardised approach has been empirically tested in over 44 randomised controlled studies with trauma patients, and hundreds of published case reports evaluating a considerable range of presenting complaints, including depression, anxiety, phobias, excessive grief, somatic conditions and addictions. EMDR therapy is guided by the Adaptive Information Processing model which addresses the unprocessed memories that appear to set the basis for a wide range of dysfunction.
This experiential training will familiarise participants with a broad spectrum of EMDR therapy applications sufficient for comfortable and efficient use with a wide range patients and situations.
Trainees completing the Weekend one training will be equipped to provide EMDR treatment to selected clients. Working with more complex presentations will require the completion of the Weekend two training.
