DESCRIPTION:AI tools are becoming more common in general practice, including in prescribing workflows like PBS authority approvals, and are increasingly discussed by regulators and medical defence organisations. It's reasonable for clinicians to approach these tools with caution.  The session will explore privacy and data-handling considerations relevant to Australian general practice, as well as key medico-legal and governance concerns associated with AI tools. Participants will also explore strategies for identifying and removing potential risks, helping practices approach AI adoption with a considered and informed mindset. Guest speakers:  Dr Hamish Graham GP Advisor & Engineering Lead from Lyrebird Health Dr Sean Stevens (MBBS, DRACOG, FRACGP, MBA, GAICD), RACGP Council Member and Founder & Host, The Good GP Podcast This session will not provide legal advice, but will equip clinicians with a clearer mental model for evaluating AI tools in everyday practice. This session is educational in nature and is intended to support informed decision-making by clinicians. A recording will be provided to all registrants. While this session is not formally RACGP-accredited, many GPs can self-log participation toward their CPD hours in accordance with RACGP guidelines.
