This health check (listed as item 715 on the Medicare Benefits Schedule) is designed especially for Indigenous people. The aim of the health checks is to provide Indigenous people with primary health care matched to their needs by supporting early detection, diagnosis and intervention for common and treatable conditions. Bulk-billing is available to the following patient groups for the majority of consultation types:
- Children under 16 years of age
- Commonwealth Concession Card holders
- DVA Gold Card Holders (& White Card Holders for entitled conditions)
Bulk-billing is available to all Medicare card holders for the following:
- Selective Telephone/Telehealth Consults (available only to patients who have previously attended the clinic in the preceding 12-month period)
- Residents of Aged Care facilities
- GP Management Plans, Team Care Arrangements and care plan reviews
- Mental Health Care Plans & their reviews
- MBS/Medicare Health Assessments
A private fee applies for patients who are not eligible under the above bulk billing criteria.
Please note that the following incur private fees for all patients:
- Minor Surgery, suturing, implanon insertion/removal/replacement
- Wound dressings
- Medicals (Workcover, other Driving License, occupational, recreational, travel, insurance etc)
- Non-Government schedule/travel vaccines
