Medication and Pharmacy
Closing the Gap Scripts The Closing the Gap (CTG) Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) Co-payment Measure provides prescription items for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients at a lower patient contribution level or free of charge.
This program is available to patients with chronic disease or chronic disease risk factors. It aims to improve quality use of medicines and access to medicines by reducing cost barriers.
This means if you or someone in your care are taking medication for a long-term illness, or are at risk of developing a long-term illness due to family history or personal history, then you may be entitled to receive your medication under the Closing the Gap Scheme. For more information, talk to your doctor before the script is written or talk to your local pharmacist.
