Following the recent Annual General Meeting and subsequent Board meeting, Mr Nathan Voll has been reappointed as Gippsland PHN Board Chair, a position he has held since December 2023. Dr Letitia Clark has been re-appointed as Deputy Chair.
Gippsland Primary Health Network (PHN) is also delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Andrew Hobby as a Board Director.
Having held roles at Google and Cisco, Mr Hobby brings a unique blend of technological expertise, healthcare experience, leadership skills, and corporate governance knowledge to the Gippsland PHN Board.
With more than 30 years in the technology industry, he began his career as an IT engineer at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (later Melbourne Health and North Western Health), where he played a pivotal role in integrating early-stage Internet technologies to improve clinical environments for staff, patients, and the community.
During an eight-year tenure in Singapore, Mr Hobby held leadership positions at Cisco and Google, leading large, customer-focused technology teams across the Asia Pacific region, helping enterprises and governments leverage advanced technologies.
His expertise spans Networking, Cyber Security, AI, Cloud, and Analytics, with a particular emphasis on their application in healthcare, education, and manufacturing sectors.
My Hobby is a graduate and active member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, further strengthening his capacity to contribute to leadership and governance initiatives.
Gippsland PHN acting Chief Executive Officer Angela Jacob said Gippsland PHN would benefit from Mr Hobby’s unique expertise and experience.
“We are excited to have Mr Hobby join our organisation. His blend of experience in leadership, technology and healthcare is unique and we are looking forward to his insights as we continue to innovate and work towards a measurably healthier Gippsland,” Mrs Jacob said.
On accepting his appointment to Gippsland PHN’s Board, Mr Hobby expressed his passion for the Gippsland region.
“In the last 12 months I have relocated with my wife back to Melbourne and have been living part-time in Foster in South Gippsland too,” he said.
“We’re passionate about the Gippsland community and are keen to form deeper connections with the community, learn and leverage our skills to make contributions.”
