A one-day online workshop for Health Professionals who are committed to delivering Cancer Council Victorias CEPs as trained facilitators.
The Cancer Education Programs (CEP) are group-based supportive care and education programs developed for people affected by cancer, including carers, families and friends. The programs provide information, practical strategies and the opportunity for participants to connect with others affected by cancer.
This one-day course trains facilitators to deliver the Cancer Council Victoria (CCV)Managing Cancer and Cancer Wellness programs to small groups. The session includes guest presenters, interactive discussions and activites.
Presentation slides, workbook and a CEP Facilitator Manual will be provided.
Learning outcomes:
Understand the key concepts and benefits of the CEPs.
Recognise adult learning principles and facilitation techniques.
Appreciate the value of effective co-facilitation in delivering CEPs.
Build confidence in delivering CEPs using available resources.
Identify CEP resources to support recruitment and community outreach.
After completing training:
You will be endorsed as a Cancer Council Victoria CEP facilitator.
Facilitators are supported to deliver CCV CEPs within their health service and receive:
- Access to a fully resourced online portal (program materials, tools and templates)
- Ongoing support including mentoring and debriefing
- Monthly communication and updates
- Professional development opportunities, including annual planning workshops, showcases and masterclasses
