Join Gippsland PHN for this practical follow-up session which builds on Session 1 by supporting general practices to begin reviewing and updating your My Health Record Security and Access Policy in preparation for the 1 October 2026 compliance deadline.
Participants will work through the key components of the Rule 21 (2026) policy requirements, discuss practical examples of policy implementation, common considerations for practice workflows, and where to access supporting resources. The session is designed to help practices leave with a clear understanding of the actions required to update and maintain your policy.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Identify the key components required within a Rule 21 (2026) My Health Record Security and Access Policy.
- Apply the Rule 21 requirements when reviewing or updating their practice’s existing policy.
- Recognise practical implementation considerations, including staff responsibilities, training, and governance requirements.
- Locate and use available templates, guidance, and support resources to assist policy implementation.
- Develop an action plan to progress their practice towards compliance with the 1 October 2026 requirements.
