The AOD Family Work Champion Program

a family-inclusive practice capability building program for the Victorian AOD Workforce

Funded by the Victorian Department of Health, the AOD Family Work Champion Program aims to strengthen the capacity of Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) practitioners across Victoria to deliver family-inclusive services. The program supports practitioners to build the confidence, skills and leadership needed to embed family-inclusive practice into everyday service delivery.

A comprehensive advanced training program designed to:

  • Build participants’ capability and confidence to undertake family work
  • Develop skills to influence, support and champion family-inclusive practice within services

DAY 1: Sector-specific family work skills and practical application

DAY 2: Champion development, implementation skills and supporting practice change within organisations

Please note that you can select only one Family Work Skills workshop.

Prior Learning

You are required to complete the Family Sensitive Practice module before commencing the Family Work Skills workshop.

The program is free of charge and includes four components:

  • Step 1: Family Sensitive Practice (online learning module)
  • Step 2: Family Work Skills Workshop (two-day training)
  • Step 3: Service-Based Local Initiative
  • Step 4: Community of Practice (CoP)
