Maintaining therapeutic relationships when sharing information using the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS) -APNA

The Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) invites you to join them for a workshop on Maintaining therapeutic relationships when sharing information using the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS). In this interactive session, they are collaborating with Emerging Minds and a panel of early childhood sector experts to explore ways to have successful, respectful and transparent conversations with families and carers about information sharing to promote child wellbeing and safety.

About our speakers and panellists:
Vicki Mansfield is a Practice Development Officer with Emerging Minds. Vicki has thirty years’ experience as a social worker in clinical roles including perinatal and infant mental health, child and adolescent mental health, family and domestic violence services, child protection, acute hospital settings and private practice. Vicki will provide an overview on curious and reflective conversations to nurture collaborative relationships with families.
The panel of early childhood education sector experts will include representatives from Early Childhood Australia (ECA) and fka Children’s Services (fkaCS).
What are the outcomes of the session?

•Develop partnership practice skills to build and maintain therapeutic and collaborative relationships with families while being transparent about information sharing using CISS.

•Using a case study example, understand the broader influence of a family’s support network or ‘village’ on a child’s mental health, growth and development

•Understand the barriers and protective factors within the child’s ‘village’

•Learn from our panel of early childhood education sector experts about what information can be shared between primary health care nurses and early childhood educators to improve child wellbeing and safety.
