Oncologic Emergencies – Palliative Care Consultancy Gippsland Part of Latrobe Regional Health (PCCG)

Dr Holly Atkinson
I grew up in greenbelt Mornington Peninsula and after completing undergraduate and postgraduate training, moved to West Gippsland where I live with my husband, three kids, dog, chickens, bees and a large productive/ornamental garden on 5 acres.

I’m a dual trained Medical Oncologist and General & Acute Medicine Physician, with a Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine.

I work across both West Gippsland Hospital, where I am the Director of Medicine, and provide inpatient and outpatient oncology and palliative care support, as well as at Latrobe Regional Hospital as an oncologist.
I’m currently also completing a Masters of Health Administration with the goal to achieve Fellowship of RACMA in the coming years.

The presentation will be on oncologic emergencies (most of which are also palliative care emergencies) and how we can best recognise, detect early, and support our community and hospital patients through treatment.
