Telehealth training program for residential aged care staff and primary care providers

In a new initiative to enhance telehealth services in aged care, Gippsland PHN collaborated with other PHNs to develop a telehealth training program for residential aged care staff and primary care providers. This program, designed in collaboration with the Aged Care Industry Information Technology Council (ACIITC) and funded by the Department of Health and Aged Care, aims to improve the quality of care delivered through telehealth.

The training covers telehealth basics, effective communication with healthcare providers, and practical skills for using telehealth technology in aged care settings. It is accessible to nurses, personal care assistants, and other aged care professionals, as well as primary care providers, providing a flexible and interactive learning experience.

By participating in this program, aged care providers and primary care practitioners can boost their teams’ telehealth capabilities, ensuring residents receive timely and high-quality healthcare.

This training program will be officially launched in Gippsland soon. Stay tuned for more information.
