COVID-19 and Influenza for community

Most people who get COVID-19 or Influenza can manage their symptoms at home.

One of the best ways to stay well is to have your COVID-19 booster and your flu shot.

COVID-19

The Better Health channel have 6 simple steps to protect yourself against COVID-19 and provides information on COVID-19 anti-viral medication, vaccination and how to support your recovery. You can access this information here.

If you need medical assistance for COVID-19 please call your regular GP for support, they may be able to offer telehealth or see you in an isolation room. If your GP is unavailable or it is after hours you can seek support from the organisations below.

  • Nurse-on-call – direct contact with a registered nurse for free, caring, professional health advice, call 1300 60 60 24 from anywhere in Victoria, 24 hours a day.
  • Victorian Virtual Emergency Department – a public health service for non-life-threatening emergencies. Access emergency care from anywhere in Victoria, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The service can also prescribe anti-viral medication for eligible people who cannot get an appointment with a GP. For more information, visit  vved.org.au/patients/
