Accessing Care Update

Update 23 February 2026 9:58am: HealthAccess GP telehealth to continue operating extended hours for an additional week, from Wednesday 25 February to Wednesday 4 March 2026 (inclusive).

This temporary extension follows the closure of the Leongatha Healthcare clinic and is intended to help support access to care and manage immediate demand pressures in the local area. This remains a short-term measure to help Leongatha and surrounding communities.

Temporary extended operating hours (Wednesday 25 February to Wednesday 4 March 2026 inclusive:

• Monday to Friday: 9:00am–10:00pm
• Saturday: 12:00pm–10:00pm
• Sunday: 8:00am–6:00pm

Update 23 January, 2026 6:13pm:
Following the closure of the Leongatha Health clinic (14 Koonwarra Rd, Leongatha), Gippsland PHN is working closely with the community, Leongatha Hospital, local service providers, and both the Victorian and Australian Governments to support continuity of access to essential primary health services.

We recognise this closure has increased demand for services in the area. To help manage immediate demand pressures during this period, Gippsland PHN have commissioned HealthAccess after-hours telehealth GP care to temporarily increase its operating hours.

This is a short-term option to support access to care and meet immediate care needs.
