Clinical Governance in Digital Health: Data, Equity and Indigenous Leadership – Australasian Institute of Clinical Governance (AICG)

As healthcare systems become increasingly digital, effective clinical governance must extend beyond clinical practice to encompass the information, technology, and governance structures that underpin safe, high-quality care. This webinar will explore how clinical governance, digital transformation, and Indigenous leadership can work together to improve quality, safety, transparency, and equity across health services.

Drawing on nationally significant work across Aotearoa New Zealand, Doug Healey will share practical insights from leading major oral health digital initiatives within Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora. The session will examine how strong information governance, high-quality data, and collaborative governance models can support better clinical decision-making, more consistent services, and improved patient outcomes at a national level.

Doug will also discuss the importance of embedding Māori perspectives into governance, service design, and digital strategy, demonstrating how meaningful partnership can help organisations move beyond compliance to achieve more equitable and culturally responsive healthcare.

Whether you are a healthcare leader, clinician, quality professional, digital health specialist, or governance practitioner, this webinar will provide valuable perspectives on the future of clinical governance in an increasingly digital health environment.
