Mild Cognitive Impairment: Recognising and Responding Early

Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) often represents the earliest stage of cognitive decline, where timely recognition and response can make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes and future care planning.

This session will provide doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and carers in the Lakes
Entrance region with practical knowledge and strategies to:

  • Understand what Mild Cognitive Impairment is and how it differs from dementia
  • Recognise early signs and risk factors in clinical and community settings
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families about concerns and next steps
  • Implement early interventions and collaborate across disciplines to support healthy ageing
