This Rural Resume Boost Bursary of up to $1000 could be just the encouragement you need to invest in extra training. Through this program, we offer a limited number of bursaries to assist medical trainees who live and work in Gippsland to access training and professional development activities.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be currently living and working as a doctor in Gippsland as one of the following:
- Intern in a regional intern training program with a view to remaining in the region for PGY2.
- Resident Medical Officer or Unaccredited Registrar with an interest in joining a rural vocational training program
- Registrar undertaking an approved College rural vocational training program or rural rotation
Applicants must also:
- demonstrate that the proposed activity meets a specific learning need and is directly relevant to their career ambitions
- intend to practice regionally in Australia once Fellowed
- be willing to provide a final report to Monash Rural Health and give feedback to peers
Eligible activities
Each bursary is capped at $1,000 per individual as a contribution towards any of the following:
- Research publication costs directly associated with publishing research in a recognised journal
- Courses or workshops (face-to-face or online) for Interns, RMOs and Registrars to access courses or workshops that are required as part of entry to or completion of an approved College Training Program.
- Scientific meetings or conferences registration/conference fees for RMOs and Registrars to attend scientific meetings or conferences of direct relevance to a College Training Program.
- Specific skills training for Vocational Trainees to gain specialised experience
- Resources to purchase relevant training resources such as textbooks, journal subscriptions, or access to online libraries
Outcomes
Our assessment panel will consider all eligible applications – all decisions are final and no correspondence contesting the outcome will be responded to. Depending on the volume and quality of applications received, part funding may be awarded.
How to apply
Rural Resume Boost Bursaries are only available for applicants based in Gippsland. To be eligible, you must be living and working in Gippsland and intend to practice rurally in the area once you are Fellowed.
