Emerging models to meet the future health needs of the Gippsland community are identified in a new Priority Issues Paper on General Practice Access, released by Gippsland Primary Health Network.
The paper suggests new funding models to help address access issues and to focus more on patient outcomes.
Community feedback highlights access to GP services as the most common health issue in Gippsland, according to the paper, with GPs often the first point of contact for patients in the health system, providing primary and preventative care, advice, education and referrals.
