General practices in the Latrobe and Baw Baw municipalities are invited to submit an expression of interest to open new Priority Primary Care Centres in their local areas.
The Victorian Government is funding 25 new GP-led Priority Primary Care Centres (PPCCs) to improve access to primary care, particularly in the after-hours period, and ease pressure on hospital emergency departments.
The PPCCs will open after hours, partner with emergency departments and provide care for people with conditions that require urgent attention but not an emergency response – for example, mild infections, fractures and burns. They will also offer pathology and imaging services.
