Safety and Suicide Intervention Training (SSIT) for Mental Health Clinicians – Wonthaggi (FULLY BOOKED WAITING LIST ENABLED)

An invitation is extended to psychologists, commissioned services and primary mental health staff to attend this education event.

Safety and Suicide Intervention Training (SSIT) is an education package designed to support clinicians who work with consumers experiencing acute suicidal crisis. It combines evidence-based approaches to screening and assessment, formulation, safety planning, lethal means restriction and consumer and carer education. This workshop is aimed at those who work alongside consumers and carers and whom provide professional support, counselling and therapy in primary care settings.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Participant will be able to utilise evidence-based assessment, formulation and safety planning approaches;
2. Participants report increased understanding of managing suicidal crisis;
3. Participants identify strategies for self-care when managing persons in suicidal crisis.

Please note:The facilitator has advised that the content delivered in this particular education opportunity is ONLY suited to mental health clinicians who are working with clients to clinically manage their suicidality.
