Supporting Meaningful Quality Improvement for Practice Managers, Reception and Admin staff – Gippsland PHN

Gippsland PHN would like to invite all Gippsland based Practice Managers, Reception and Admin staff to attend this quality improvement education event.

Quality improvement is about more than information or compliance. It relies on shared understanding, strong clinical leadership, reliable data, and practical systems that support better patient care.

This education helps practices make the most of the PIP QI Incentive by moving beyond reporting requirements to use Improvement Measures as tools for real, everyday improvement. The focus is on practical, achievable changes that support better outcomes, more efficient workflows, and stronger team‑based care.

Working closely with Gippsland PHN the program will be tailored to Gippsland practices, aligning with local priorities, regional health needs, and existing QI initiatives. A short scoping discussion will ensure the education reflects:

  • Current QIM engagement across the region
  • Common documentation and coding challenges
  • Workforce pressures and capacity constraints
  • Opportunities to align with existing initiatives

For participants, this means clearer understanding of PIP QI, increased confidence using data, and practical strategies to strengthen patient care—without adding unnecessary burden.

Presenter’s bio:

Wendy has 23 years’ experience in general practice. She is currently Senior Operations Manager in a 20 GP general practice in Gisborne, Victoria. Wendy has worked across reception, practice nursing and practice management, and has a comprehensive understanding of how these areas interrelate. She currently manages 15 reception/admin staff, and 5 chronic disease nurses, and is responsible for IT, daily operations and induction and mentoring of new GPs and medical students. Wendy has been delivering education workshops for Larter since 2017. She enjoys engaging audiences in relation to a range of topics relating to general practice, such as the MBS.
