Can you make a difference when your community needs it most?
As we head into the winter season – when storms and flooding are more likely – Gippsland PHN is looking to connect with local health professionals who are willing to lend a hand during emergencies.
We know that during events like bushfires and floods, the strength of our local health workforce can make a real difference. We’re inviting general practitioners, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, general practices and pharmacies to join our emergency volunteer register.
The register helps us quickly connect with health professionals who can step in when it matters most, whether that’s supporting primary healthcare field clinics, providing temporary workforce support during a disaster or helping services scale up to meet increased demand.
If you, your practice or your pharmacy would like to be involved, we encourage you to complete the online registration form. Registering your interest does not automatically guarantee you will be called upon during an emergency, but it ensures we can reach out if support is needed.
Gippsland PHN works closely with the Victorian Department of Health and the Commonwealth Department of Health, Disability and Ageing to coordinate a strong, local primary healthcare response when emergencies happen.

Your skills and experience could make a real difference during emergencies and help support the communities you care for every day.
