Gippsland PHN congratulates the Lakes Entrance Aboriginal Health Association (LEAHA) on the recent opening of its new medical clinic, marking an exciting new chapter in the delivery of culturally safe health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in East Gippsland.
The opening celebrated the vision, determination and community spirit that have guided LEAHA’s growth over many years, while honouring the Elders whose leadership helped establish the organisation.
The new clinic will not only provide a modern, welcoming space for patients, but also support expanded access to essential health care services.
Gippsland PHN is proud to partner with LEAHA to deliver services that strengthen referral pathways and improve access to culturally safe care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living with chronic disease.
A recently introduced program means patients can now access a range of allied health services on site through LEAHA, helping to improve prevention, early intervention and management of chronic health conditions.
These additional services will help bridge gaps in primary care and ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in East Gippsland have greater access to localised, culturally appropriate care.
