Gippsland PHN is inviting people with lived and living experience, carers, community members, health professionals and service providers to contribute their insights and help shape the new Medicare Mental Health Centre in Sale.
The centre will open in the first half of 2027 and will improve access to free mental health care and support for people across the Wellington local government area.
Community involvement is an important part of the service planning and design process, and Gippsland PHN wants to ensure the centre reflects local priorities and the diverse needs of individuals, families and carers across Wellington.
Opportunities to participate in consultation and co-design activities will be available throughout July and August 2026, with a range of engagement options available to enable broad participation.

Medicare Mental Health Centres are multidisciplinary, collaborative mental health services, providing immediate and short to medium-term mental health treatment and support for people experiencing distress and/or moderate to severe mental health challenges, as well as their families and carers.
