Creating a healthier, better connected Gippsland.

Transport service takes patients to much needed appointments

Gippsland, Murray and Western Victoria Primary Health Networks are funded to support the Royal Flying Doctor Service Victoria to deliver the Flying Doctor Community Transport service with volunteers driving patients to and from much needed medical appointments

The 10 regional Victorian services, including Central Gippsland (Sale), Foster and Lakes Entrance were launched simultaneously on 18 November.

Acting Gippsland PHN Chief Executive Officer, Angela Jacob (pictured above), praised the great partnerships that make the Gippsland services possible – RFDS, Central Gippsland Health, South Gippsland Hospital and Gippsland Lakes Complete Health and importantly the community. Nationals MP for Gippsland South, Danny O’Brien joined the celebration, also praising the much-needed service.

The Foster service started in May 2023, followed by Central Gippsland (Sale) in June and Lakes Entrance in July. Combined they have already travelled 53,739 kilometres doing 1,346 trips.
