Gippsland PHN welcomes Lisa Smith as Chief Operating Officer

Gippsland PHN is pleased to welcome Lisa Smith as its new Chief Operating Officer.

Lisa brings extensive executive leadership experience across rural, regional and remote health services. She joins Gippsland PHN from Western Australian Country Health Service, where she held senior executive roles including Executive Director Kimberley and Executive Director Pilbara.

In these roles, Lisa led large and geographically dispersed health services across hospitals, remote clinics, community services and public health programs. Her experience spans complex regional health environments, with a strong focus on operational leadership, service integration, workforce development and regional governance.

With a clinical background as a physiotherapist, Lisa has a strong commitment to improving health outcomes for rural and regional communities, with a particular interest in primary health care, prevention, integrated care and community-based models of care.

Lisa also brings experience in service redesign, Aboriginal health partnerships, emergency management, patient safety, quality improvement, culturally responsive health care and building trusted relationships across communities, providers, government and health services.

Lisa has relocated to Victoria to continue pursuing her long-standing passion for primary care, prevention and community-based models of care.

Gippsland PHN looks forward to the contribution Lisa will make alongside the Executive Team, staff, stakeholders, partners and communities as the organisation continues working towards its vision of a measurably healthier Gippsland.
